TERREIN an art walk

The Art Walk was installed on a natural pathway of approximately 500mts that passes through the gums, pines and granite terrain to a rocky outcrop looking west from Mt Tully. It’s a wild sheltered site for the unique flora and fauna of the Granite Belt. Under the tree canopy the artist takes inspiration from the changing light, winds and fauna visitors. Mieke calls it her ‘in situ’ studio where new works are seeded, developed and made. The artworks are installed in the environment and will attract a keen eye to come closer and investigate. Some pieces have weathered and become part of the bush. Look out for:

  • ‘Tree Wrap’ felt/wool/jumper/alpaca
  • ‘Tree Vines’ felt/wool
  • ‘Collected January 2013…fallen leaves and new growth’     eco prints on woolen blanket
  • ‘Sclerophyll Forest’ 2013 eco dyed blankets laced with linen thread
  • ‘Vessel’ felt/local sheep/mohair
  • ‘Portal’ felt hats

OPEN: 10-4pm Easter Saturday 31 March 2018

Refreshments of coffee/tea/cold water are available. BYO picnic lunch.

Mieke den Otter is a visual artist who paints, draws but also works in the medium of textiles. Mieke and Jaap den Otter visit the Mt Tully landscape often to rest and recharge.
