My recent felt works are small to large scale 3D, still experimental, exploring layers of colour and texture in a complex form.
So an opportunity to work on the domestic landscape is refreshing and not unlike creating a still life painting
Quirky- I design on paper and then choose the directions I will go. The piece will often evolve from the ideas visualised.
Functional- I love working with woollen fibre from the sheep’s back. It is soft, strong, dyes well and has felting properties.
Each cosy will have a warming spot around the tea pot and conversations at your table.
Pieces in the group exhibition ‘INFUSED all things tea’ 5-30 July 2011 …at the SWICH Contemporary Art Space 191 Brisbane t Ipswich Q 4305
