The Art of Recycling

'Japan meets India in Ipswich'

I posted my piece for the 2010 Textile Art Competition in today…it’s been selected as a finalist so that means it will be hanging with some great textiles next week.
‘Japan meets India in Ipswich”

My pieces evolve from the coming together of found textiles. I have used feltmaking techniques to fuse the deconstructed threads into a new fabric.
Japan and India have a wonderful textile history and Australia produces fine merino wool.
Textile artists have a world waiting to be explored and a unique resource close to home. From op-shop to exhibition, it’s an exciting journey and I always am amazed at the stories that can be told.
